Hello
everyone! Welcome to the Kitchen Exchange blog – How are you doing?
The weather
is fool and it’s giving mixed feelings; I feel like a melting Popsicle during
the day and by night it’s freezing cold… or is it just me?!
Anyway,
I really didn’t know what to type on a first post since diving straight into a
recipe would be weird for, so I decided to go for tips and tricks that will
make the process of cooking easier and quicker.
Let’s
go!
Tip #1:
lemon juice
Obtaining
lemon juice can be sometimes hard and you sure don’t want to keep squeezing
until you feel your soul being squeezed out with those few drops, so what you
want to do is pop the lemon in the microwave for about 30 second and then give
it a light squeeze and the juice will come out;
Tip #2:
garlic smell
I love
garlic! I use it in salads, tomato sauce, on bread… but getting rid of the
smell can be quite difficult even after washing your hands. An easy ways to do
that is by rubbing a bit of butter on your hands and then using soap;
Tip #3: too
much salt
Sometimes
the recipe is all good and yummy and ready to serve, but oops! Your dish is a
pinch or two more salted than it should be. Don’t panic, just add a little bit
of sugar and mix it well, and voilĂ ! It’s just the right seasoning;
Tip #4:
sunny-side up egg
If you
want to get the perfect sunny-side up egg, make sure to pour few drops of water
on the sides before putting the lid back on for a few seconds;
Tip #5:
Smashing bananas
Let’s be
honest, it can get quite untidy if you’re smashing more than one. To avoid the
mess (and the cleaning) use a Ziploc and smash the banana inside without
getting sticky everywhere;
Tip #6:
fresh parsley in the fridge
To maintain
fresh parsley in the fridge as long as possible, don’t chop it, just wash it
well and let it dry before rolling it in a clean piece of fabric and then you
can put it in the fridge. The same goes for lettuce.
So there
you go! 6 kitchen tips/tricks for you. Let me know if you want any tips on
anything you have a difficulty with.
